I am as relieved as all of you must be to see that COVID-19’s spread in CT has slowed. In fact, we are the best in the nation⏤so great work, everyone! Let’s keep it up!
That being said, I strongly encourage you all to continue to practice the “Big 3”:

Wearing masks PROPERLY (covering mouth AND nose!)

Washing hands for 20-30 seconds regularly
We can support our local businesses while keeping everyone as safe as possible.
If you can stay home⏤do it. This virus does not pay attention to state borders, political party, age, or any demographic. This is where we all pull together as a larger community and keep each other, our first responders, and our health care workers healthy and safe.

Orange families in need of non-perishable food can call Orange Community Services at 203-891-4788. The Food Bank, located at High Plains Community Center, is open from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM for qualifying residents.
Woodbridge:
Woodbridge families in need of non-perishable food can call Woodbridge Human Services at 203-389-3429. Food deliveries may possibly be provided for qualifying families.
WEEKEND FOOD FOR BOWA STUDENTS
Food2Kids, a private non-profit based in Orange, is providing supplemental food for children for weekend meals. They have generously extended this offer to all BOWA students if needed. From their Facebook page:
“If your children would benefit from additional food available at your home, please text
203-668-7099 or 203-887-1088. Just leave your address, the number of children, and if there are any food restrictions or allergies. We will leave the food on the doorstep, ring the bell and leave.
No questions, qualifications or interactions - just food.”
EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES/INFO. FOR FAMILIES
Districts across the state submitted plans on 7/24/20 to the Connecticut State Dept. of Education (CSDE). Further details/information will be coming from both the CSDE and your local district in the next few weeks. While we have a better handle on COVID-19 than just about any other state in the country, this is still a novel virus, meaning that it is brand new and evolving. Scientists are still learning about the effects and treatments of this virus in real-time, and our school districts will have to adapt to any new information. It’s best to reach out directly to your principals and superintendents with any specific questions.

TOWN INFORMATION
Derby:
City Hall, The Veterans Community Center, the Derby Senior Center and the Derby Public Library are all closed to the public until further notice. Staff are working during normal business hours and are available via phone/email.

Orange:
The Case Memorial Library is still closed, but requests for curbside pickup can be made online: http://orange.lioninc.org↗. Town Hall and High Plains Community Center buildings are open, but please visit department web pages or call the office in question beforehand to see what business can be done online. To enter the town hall and community center you will need to wear a mask, wait outside the door of the department you are visiting until you are acknowledged to enter, and maintain social distancing. Woodbridge:
Town offices are closed to the public but staff are working on site and may be reached via phone or email. The Town athletic fields, playgrounds, tennis and pickleball courts and the dog park are now open. Contact the Recreation Department for a tennis court/pickleball permit: 203-389-3446. The Transfer Station is open for regular business hours↗.
